In 1867 Edward Thompson opened a stationery shop in Sunderland with a small printing operation in a back room. At the end of the first World War John Louis Cronin, the great nephew of Edward Thompson, took over the shop and was followed in the 1950s by his son Frank.

Frank Cronin took the business through a rapid period of expansion, initially targeting the Bingo industry and then diversifying into paper manufacture and promotional print. Today the company operates on four sites in Sunderland and employees over 500 people.

We Are Manufacturer, Trader & Exporters Of Gaming Supplies:- For more than forty years Edward Thompson have supplied the Gaming Industry with a range of products and services. For example we are the market leader supplying 60% of the tickets used in bingo clubs. We have an extensive commercial print operation, with in-house design, print and finishing. Our services now include a full mailing operation for membership and promotional purposes. The refurbishment and electronics operations can design and fit out a club from scratch. In recent years we have developed a promotional gifts service sourcing and supplying a range of products for use as door giveaways, prizes and in conjunction with loyalty promotions. Sunderland paper Mill:- The Paper Mill has a strong reputation as a niche player in the industry, producing 500 tonnes per week, specialising in recycled paper, bespoke makings, short runs and very quick turnarounds. We have made considerable investments over the last ten years in improving the quality and range of products. This included Spectrophotometer colour control throughout the making. Our products include, wove, watermark, laid, offset and coated papers available in a range of reel and sheet sizes with a weight range of 60 to 250 gsm. We offer a wide range of colour tints and supply manilla and Kraft papers.
