JK Paper Ltd. Is a member of the JK Organization, a leading multi - product, multi - business group of India.
JK Paper a Rs.650 crore company has two integrated pulp and paper plants - JK Paper Mill in Rayagada (Orissa) - annual output over 1, 00, 000 tons and Central Pulp Mills in Songadh (Gujrat) of 50, 000 tpa capacity.
JK Paper has been a pioneer in every field related to the manufacture and marketing of paper. Some key milestones in our corporate journey so far have been:
Largest manufacturer of branded copier paper in India.
First to introduce surface sized maplitho in India.
First to introduce airmail paper from bamboo pulp in India.
Established India's largest and most modern pulp mill in 1998. It is a state-of-the-art pulp mill with an annual capacity of 1, 27, 000 MT.
First integrated pulp and paper mill in India to have got ISO 9001 certification.
First to introduce laser paper in India.
First to introduce international quality consumer packaging for JK Excel Bond of 100 sheets & 250 sheets packs.
JK Paper in leadership through quality. It has been setting quality bench marks from its inception, and continues to do so. Its major brands include JK Copier, JK Easy Copier, JK Evervite, JK Excel Bond, JK Bond, JK SHB Maplitho, CPM Parchment and JK MICR. Its marketing volume is to the tune of 1, 60, 000 MT per annum. J K Paper has one of the largest distribution networks in the paper industry. With close to 100 wholesalers, over 1700 dealers, 10 warehouses and 4 regional offices spread across country, it has achieved unparalleled service levels.
JK Paper has also been consistently exporting its products to markets such as Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and several West Asian Countries. Nearly 50% of the exports is of branded products.
JK Paper has a deep commitment to protecting the environment. JK Paper Mills is the first paper mill in India to have been accredited with ISO - 14001, the Environment Management System Standard. In line with its commitment to the environment, JK Paper is running social forestry and farm forestry programmes in 11 districts of Orissa and 3 districts of Andhra Pradesh, covering a total area of over 27, 000 hectares. The broad objectives of the forestry programmes are:
Creation of plantation awareness among the farmers towards utilisation of their otherwise unproductive lands.
Establishment of plantations that involves people's participation with buy back arrangements.
Impetus to environmental rehabilitation.
JK Paper has a research and development wing involved in developing high quality seedlings and helping farmers achieve better yields from their plantations. This year already over two lakh such high quality seedlings have been distributed and planted. It has established mist chambers through which it has taken up production of clonal plants. Today the research and development wing boasts of having identified fast growing clones which would be able to produce 150 MT/ha of wood in a period of 7 years as against 60 MT/ha from seed route ones.
